Pickleball Doubles Rules

Tournament Overview

This is a doubles (2v2) pickleball tournament held every alternate Wednesday evening. Familiarize yourself with the rules to ensure fair and enjoyable matches.

  1. Format

    Doubles matches (2v2). Each match is played to 11 points, win by 2 (cap at 15).

  2. Scoring

    Rally scoring system. Points can only be scored by the serving team. Games are typically played to 11 points.

  3. Service

    Serve must be underhand with paddle contact below the waist. The serve is made diagonally and must clear the non-volley zone (kitchen).

  4. Two-Bounce Rule

    The ball must bounce once on each side before volleys are allowed. After the two bounces, players may volley or play off the bounce.

  5. Non-Volley Zone (Kitchen)

    Players cannot volley the ball while standing in the 7-foot non-volley zone on either side of the net.

  6. Faults

    Common faults include: ball out of bounds, net violations, volleying from the kitchen, and service errors.

  7. Equipment

    Paddles and balls will be provided. Non-marking indoor shoes required.

  8. Fair Play

    Respect your opponents and any officials. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.
